With just over a fortnight to go until the Premier League season begins once again, Arsenal fans are facing the ever so familiar uncertainty as to wether their current squad is equipped to mount a serious title challenge.The transfer window so far has shown shades of last summer for the gunners. They signed a player early on in the form of Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka as was the case when Wenger snatched up Petr Cech from bitter rivals Chelsea last year. That good start to the window gave Arsenal fans hope that finally Arsene Wenger was going to get signings in early and fill the gaps in the squad which have been incredibly evident for all to see over the past few seasons.However, as so often is this case with Wenger, the club have been playing the risky game of poker which has Rusney Castillo Jersey left the fans increasingly frustrated. After being rejected by Jamie Vardy and refusing to pay over the odds for Argentine goal machine Gonzalo Higuain, Arsenal could well go in to the season without that clinical number 9 which is vital to be able to compete with their rivals. Rumoured interest in Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette and Toulouse forward Ben Yedder is sure to please Arsenal fans, wether or not they will be donning the red and white come September is another question.As so often is pointed out by the Arsenal bo s, lack of quality in the squad is not always the problem but the task of staying injury free. One game in to pre season and potential captain Per Mertesacker is the first victim to the gunners injury woes which has caused Arsene search the transfer market to find a suitable, experienced replacement. Many fans feel this may be a ble sing in disguise as a powerful, commanding centre half is what has been needed in the Arsenal back line for a number of years.With just over two weeks to go until the Premier League starts again and question marks over wether or not his contract will be extended, Arsene Wenger needs to be efficient in the market and bring in top quality so a title challenge can be made in what could be his last chance to deliver a league title to the club he so adores.
